Brandon Thomas-Asante Hails Coventry City Teammates for Inspiring Red-Hot Form
Black Stars attacker Brandon Thomas-Asante has expressed gratitude to his Coventry City teammates for playing a crucial role in his impressive run of form in the ongoing English Championship season.
The 26-year-old forward has been in scintillating form, scoring five goals in his last three matches, including a brilliant brace that propelled Coventry City to victory over Portsmouth, extending their lead at the top of the table to four points.
Thomas-Asante’s performances have been a major highlight for the Sky Blues, with the Ghanaian now boasting eight goals and three assists this campaign — a feat that makes him the first Ghanaian since Patrick Agyemang in 2017 to score seven or more goals in his first 11 league games.
Reflecting on his journey so far, the former West Bromwich Albion striker opened up about his struggles last season and how teamwork and fitness have made a difference this year.
“Last season, I was suffering a bit of injury and trying to play through that but obviously not being 100% is a bit frustrating,” he admitted after the match.

He also highlighted the importance of cohesion and preparation under new management, adding:
“The boys get used to me and vice versa, and working with the manager [Lampard]. Having pre-season is always a strength and a positive thing because it helps build understanding and confidence.”
Thomas-Asante’s resurgence has been met with excitement among Coventry fans and Ghanaian supporters alike, as his form could earn him a recall to the Black Stars squad ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
