Black Stars to play Japan and South Korea during Asia Tour
Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, are gearing up for an exciting Asian tour in November, as preparations intensify ahead of next year’s FIFA World Cup in North America.
Ghana will take on two of Asia’s football powerhouses — Japan and South Korea — in what promises to be a competitive and entertaining double-header designed to keep the team sharp and battle-ready.
Otto Addo’s men will open their tour with a clash against Japan on November 14 in Toyota, as part of the prestigious Kirin Cup. The Black Stars will then travel to Seoul to face South Korea on November 17 to wrap up the tour.
Both Japan and South Korea have already secured their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and are expected to feature full-strength line-ups. The matches are therefore seen as ideal tests for Ghana’s squad, who are closing in on a return to the global stage.
The Black Stars currently lead Group I of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with 22 points, following their emphatic 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic in Morocco.
Before their trip to Asia, Ghana will turn their attention to a crucial home fixture against Comoros on Sunday, where a victory could officially confirm their place at the World Cup.
The upcoming Asian tour is expected to offer not only a high level of competition but also valuable international exposure as Ghana continue their pursuit of excellence on the world stage.
