Ghana women’s national football team are preparing to conclude their training camp in the United Arab Emirates following their final match in the Pink Ladies Cup against Tanzania women’s national football team on Friday.

The decision comes after the Confederation of African Football officially confirmed that the 2026 edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will no longer take place in March as originally planned.

In a statement released on Thursday, CAF announced that the tournament, which will be hosted by Morocco, has been postponed following consultations with FIFA and other stakeholders. The competition has now been rescheduled to run from July 25 to August 16, 2026.

The adjustment in the tournament calendar comes while the Black Queens are already in camp in the UAE, where they have been participating in the Pink Ladies Cup as part of preparations for the continental showpiece.

Ghana’s women’s national team has impressed during the tournament, recording back-to-back 4–0 victories over Hong Kong women’s national football team and Russia women’s national football team. The dominant performances have boosted morale within the squad as the team continues to build momentum ahead of upcoming international assignments.

Despite the positive results on the pitch, uncertainty surrounds the team’s travel arrangements after the competition. Reports indicate that air transport in some parts of the region has been temporarily suspended due to rising tensions, leaving players and officials waiting for clearance before they can depart from Sharjah.

Authorities and team officials are currently working to finalize travel plans that will allow the delegation to leave safely once their final fixture against Tanzania has been completed.

Even with the logistical challenges, the training camp has offered valuable preparation time for the Black Queens as they continue their rebuilding process following their impressive third-place finish at the 2024 WAFCON in Morocco.
