Ghana Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has named a 24-player squad for the upcoming double-header against Ivory Coast, scheduled for May 30 and June 3, 2025.

The international friendlies are part of Ghana’s build-up to the 2025 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will be held in Morocco from July 5 to 26.

Coach Bjorkegren maintained the core of the squad that featured in last month’s friendly matches against Senegal but has made room for some new faces who impressed at the recent training camp at the GFA Technical Centre in Prampram.

Among the notable call-ups is midfielder Nancy Amoh of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, who earns her first senior cap. She is joined by Afi Amenyaku, a goalkeeper from Northern Ladies, who also receives her debut call-up.

Also earning first-time invitations are Turkish-based midfielder Abigail Kofi Kim of Ankara BB Fomget and Portuguese-based defender Louisa Animwaa of Valadares. Their inclusion reflects the technical team’s intent to blend local talent with foreign-based experience.

Returning to the squad are defender Grace Acheampong (TP Mazembe) and attacker Alice Kusi (Al Ahli), both of whom were absent in recent fixtures due to various reasons.

The Black Queens will take on the Ivorian national women’s team, Les Éléphants, in two friendlies that are expected to offer a stern test ahead of the WAFCON finals.

The friendly matches will serve as a key part of the team’s final preparations before heading into the continental championship where Ghana is eyeing a strong run.
