The senior women’s national team of Ghana, the Black Queens, have called up 32 players for a rigorous nine-day training camp ahead of the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to be staged in Morocco.

Scheduled to run from May 3 to May 12, the camp will be held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, serving as a critical phase in head coach Kim Lars Björkegren’s preparations for the continental showpiece.

The camp will feature a blend of home-based talents from the Women’s Premier League and foreign-based stars, including some who were unavailable for previous national assignments.

Coach Björkegren and his technical team will utilize the sessions to assess player form, fitness levels, and overall readiness before settling on the final squad for the tournament.

All players are expected to report to camp by 10:00 am on Sunday, May 4, with full training set to commence thereafter.

The Black Queens are aiming for a major comeback on the continental stage after missing out on the last WAFCON tournament.
