Black Galaxies will have a tough game against Nigeria- Gladson Awako

Former Black Galaxies captain Gladson Awako has expressed confidence in Ghana’s chances ahead of their crucial CHAN qualifiers encounter with Nigeria.

Ghana will play host to Nigeria in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, with the reverse fixture expected to take place at the Godsway Akpabio Stadium.

Awako, reflecting on their previous meeting, acknowledged the challenge posed by Nigeria.

“The Black Galaxies will not have an easy game against Nigeria. We eliminated them the last time we met, so playing against us again will not be easy for us. Nigerians feel they are ahead of us, but I’m confident we will surprise them,” Awako added.

The experienced midfielder emphasized the importance of discipline and teamwork as key factors for success.

“The players need to be humble and obedient to the instructions of the technical team. The technical team is also experienced and knows how to navigate games like this,” he noted.

The winner of the two-legged-tie will book their ticket in the CHAN tournament to be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda in 2025.
