Ghana’s Black Damsels continued their impressive run at the CAF African Schools Football Championship with a determined 2-1 victory over Tanzania in their second group fixture.

Coming into the match on the back of an opening win, Ghana were pushed to their limits by a resilient Tanzanian side but ultimately showed composure and grit to secure maximum points.

The Black Damsels made a flying start, taking control early and breaking the deadlock in just the 6th minute. Christiana Ashiaku capitalised on sustained attacking pressure to give Ghana the advantage.

Tanzania responded positively, gradually growing into the contest and testing Ghana’s defensive line before finding a deserved equaliser after a spell of pressure.

However, Ghana regained the initiative shortly after the restart, with Ashiaku once again proving decisive. The forward netted her second of the match in the 36th minute to restore her side’s lead.

The closing stages saw Tanzania push hard for another equaliser, but Ghana’s defence stood firm under pressure to preserve the narrow advantage.

The victory keeps Ghana firmly on track in the group, boosting their chances of progression as they prepare for their final group game against Burkina Faso on April 7 in Harare.
