Bibiani Goldstars head coach, Frimpong Manso, has rejected the notion that the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title race is a two-team battle between his side and Asante Kotoko, insisting Nations FC are very much in the mix.

Goldstars and Kotoko currently sit level at the top of the league table on 47 points after 26 games each, but Nations FC trail closely with 45 points. Medeama SC are also lurking with 41 points, setting up a highly competitive finish to the campaign with just seven matches to go.

Speaking ahead of his team’s midweek clash against Bechem United, Manso maintained that the title is still up for grabs and warned against prematurely writing off other contenders.

“The Ghana Premier League title race is not just between Kotoko and Goldstars,” Manso told the media. “Nations FC are serious contenders. Our objective is to win the title, and that hasn’t changed. But it will all depend on how we approach our remaining matches.”

The former Kotoko defender emphasized the importance of consistency and focus in the remaining fixtures, adding that his players understand what is at stake.

“Every match is now like a final. We need to maintain our discipline and concentration. That is the only way we can keep our hopes alive.”

Bibiani Goldstars head into their outstanding fixture against Bechem United with renewed confidence, having extended their unbeaten home run in their last outing.
