Bibiani Gold Stars have taken a decisive step in shaping their future after confirming the appointment of Fritz Markus Schmid as the club’s new head coach.

The reigning Ghana Premier League champions announced on Monday, December 22, that the Swiss tactician has committed to a two-year deal, officially beginning a new era at the Bibiani-based club.

In a statement released by the club, Gold Stars expressed their delight at securing the experienced coach, welcoming him warmly into the fold as they look ahead to the remainder of the season and beyond.

Schmid arrives in Bibiani with an impressive résumé that spans both club and international football. Over the years, he has served as an assistant coach at elite institutions including Tottenham Hotspur, FC Basel, and the Austria national team, before later taking charge of the New Zealand Men’s National Team as head coach.

Closer to home, the Swiss trainer recently made a strong impression in Ghana, playing a pivotal role in Kotoku Royals’ promotion to the top flight.

Currently sitting third on the league table with 25 points, Gold Stars remain firmly in the title conversation, just three points behind leaders Aduana FC. Schmid’s arrival is expected to inject renewed direction and consistency as the club pushes to defend its crown.

With his wealth of experience and proven leadership, expectations are high that Fritz Markus Schmid will guide Gold Stars toward sustained success and a strong challenge for the league title.
