Ghanaian Olympic sprinter Benjamin Azamati has expressed optimism about the country’s prospects at the 2025 World Athletics Championships.

The World Athletics Championships, slated to take place later this year in Tokyo from 13-21 September  represents a significant opportunity for Ghanaian athletes to showcase their talent and resilience.

Reflecting on a challenging 2024 season, Azamati acknowledged the difficulties but emphasized his readiness to perform at the highest level this year.

“2024 was not the best season, but we will be ready for the World Athletics Championships this year,” Azamati said in an interview with GHOne TV.

Azamati, a key figure in Ghana’s athletics team, has consistently been one of the country’s top performers in international competitions.

Despite setbacks last season, he remains a source of inspiration and hope for the nation, especially as Ghana looks to bolster its presence at major global events.
