Karela United delivered one of their most composed performances of the season on Sunday, defeating Hearts of Oak 2-0 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium to keep their climb up the Premier League ladder firmly on track.

The Pride and Passion set the tone early, capitalizing on their first clear opening in the 19th minute. Fateh Mohammed whipped in a pinpoint cross that met the surging run of Eric Antwi, whose expertly directed header left goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi rooted to the spot.

Karela’s persistence was rewarded again on the stroke of halftime. A moment of hesitation from Agbasi allowed Antwi to pounce, steering the loose ball home for his second of the afternoon and tightening the hosts’ grip on the match.

Despite Hearts of Oak seeing more of the ball, their forward line struggled to translate possession into meaningful chances

The victory pushes Karela United into 7th place with 20 points, a single point behind Hearts and within touching distance of the top four as the season intensifies. Up next is a meeting with Young Apostles.

Hearts of Oak, now sitting 6th, will look to regroup and sharpen their attacking edge before facing a challenging trip to Nations FC.
