Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah has expressed strong belief that the Porcupine Warriors will seal progression to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup despite conceding three goals in their first-leg clash with Kwara United.

The Ghanaian FA Cup holders secured a narrow 4-3 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in a game that swung from end to end. Amoah, who emerged as the hero of the evening with a brace, admitted the team’s defensive errors nearly cost them but insisted they are determined to finish the job in Nigeria.

“I think we played very well, we wanted to score more goals, we got the goals, but a few mistakes at the back,” Amoah told reporters after the match. “We conceded three goals, but we are not giving up; we are going there to qualify.”

Emmanuel Antwi and Joseph Ablorh added their names to the scoresheet, ensuring Kotoko carried a slender advantage into the return leg.

The decisive fixture is set for Sunday, September 28, at the M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium in Abuja, where Kotoko will aim to protect their lead and secure passage to the next round. The winner of the tie will earn a date with Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Athletic Club in the subsequent stage of the competition.
