Antoine Semenyo has called on his Manchester City teammates to maintain a perfect run in the closing stages of the 2025/26 Premier League season as the battle for the title intensifies.

The Ghana international was the difference-maker on Saturday, striking the decisive goal in City’s narrow victory over Leeds United at Elland Road. The Week 28 triumph ensured Pep Guardiola’s side stayed firmly in the championship race, trailing leaders Arsenal by just two points.

Reflecting on his match-winning contribution, Semenyo described the moment as a landmark in his City career but stressed that the focus must remain on the bigger picture.

“Definitely [his most important goal for City]. Every game is important, happy for the win but still a lot of games to go so we just need to keep going. All we can do is win our games,” the Black Stars forward said.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Citizens from AFC Bournemouth during the January transfer window, has quickly become an influential figure in the squad. Known primarily for operating on the flanks, Semenyo revealed he is embracing the challenge of adjusting to new tactical demands.

“It’s a lot – you dream to play at this level. It’s obviously tough but I’m embracing it.

“It’s pretty different, I’m usually just a wide man but I’m adapting – and I’m just doing whatever I can for the team.”

Semenyo’s latest strike takes his tally to 14 goals and four assists in 27 league appearances this campaign, underlining his growing impact since arriving in Manchester.

With the title race entering its decisive stretch, City’s destiny hinges on their ability to maintain consistency, a message their Ghanaian forward has made abundantly clear.
