Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah has played down fears over the club’s Ghana Premier League title hopes, maintaining that the Porcupine Warriors are still in the race despite a challenging spell of results.

Kotoko currently occupy fifth place on the league table with 35 points, trailing leaders Medeama SC by eight points. The Kumasi giants have endured a difficult period, including back-to-back FA Cup defeats to Heart of Lions and Aduana FC, but Amoah believes the season is far from over.

Speaking in an interview on Akoma FM, the forward pointed to the number of remaining fixtures as a major source of encouragement for the team and its supporters.

“As you can see, there are still 13 matches to play, so it’s not over. What I’m saying is that our supporters should continue to believe in us and stand by us through both the tough times and the good times. I truly believe that everything is going to be alright,” Amoah said.

He stressed that the backing of the fans remains crucial to the club’s ambitions, describing their presence and belief as a driving force for the players.

“I believe it’s our performance that matters, and our supporters should continue to believe in us. They shouldn’t give up on us, and they should come out in their numbers to support the team. Honestly, without them, it feels like we aren’t playing for anyone,” he added.

Kotoko will look to reignite their campaign in a high-profile Super Clash against rivals Hearts of Oak on Matchday 22 at the Baba Yara Stadium, with the fixture expected to play a key role in shaping their title aspirations.
