Former Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah has announced his arrival at Libyan giants Al Ahly Benghazi in style, scoring twice on his debut to inspire a dominant victory over Egyptian lower-tier side Nejmet Sanai Star FC in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old Ghanaian striker, who joined the Butchers just last week, wasted no time in making his mark during the team’s ongoing pre-season training camp in Cairo, Egypt.

Amoah was in scintillating form, netting a brace in his very first outing for the club, helping Al Ahly Benghazi cruise to an emphatic victory.

Amoah impressed not only with his goals but also with his intelligent movement, sharp finishing, and link-up play — earning rave reviews from both teammates and technical staff. Nigerian duo Gabriel Orok and Moses also grabbed doubles, while Switch added another to round off a convincing team performance.

Amoah joined Al Ahly Benghazi after an impressive spell with Asante Kotoko, where he emerged as one of the club’s key attacking threats before making the move abroad earlier this month.

The Libyan club is expected to continue strengthening its squad ahead of the 2025/26 football season, with several new signings and intensive pre-season preparations aimed at ensuring a competitive campaign both domestically and on the continental stage.

Amoah’s electric start will no doubt boost his confidence — and that of the club’s supporters — as Al Ahly Benghazi builds momentum ahead of the new season.
