Al Hilal Secure Ghana Right-Back Kamaradini Mamudu on Long-Term Deal
Sudanese giants Al Hilal have confirmed the acquisition of Ghana international Kamaradini Mamudu, completing a significant transfer during the current window.
The 23-year-old right-back has committed his future to the Omdurman-based club until the end of 2029, joining from Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC for an undisclosed fee. Mamudu’s arrival strengthens Al Hilal’s defensive options as they continue to compete on multiple fronts.
Due to the ongoing civil unrest in Sudan, Al Hilal are currently participating in the Rwandan Premier League, where they have enjoyed an impressive campaign. After 15 matches, the Blue and Whites sit comfortably at the summit of the table with 35 points.
On the continental stage, Al Hilal have already booked their place in the group phase of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League. They are set for a high-profile Group C encounter against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in their Matchday Four clash scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026.
Mamudu arrives with a strong pedigree from the Ghana Premier League. Widely regarded as one of the most consistent full-backs in the domestic league, he previously turned out for AshantiGold SC, Karela United, and Tamale City before making the switch to Medeama in 2023.
His influence was crucial during Medeama’s historic Premier League title-winning campaign in the 2022/23 season. On the continental front, he featured prominently in the club’s CAF Champions League run, making eight appearances, scoring once, and registering an assist.
Those performances did not go unnoticed, earning Mamudu his maiden call-up to the Ghana senior national team during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Niger in November 2024.
Across his time with Medeama SC, Mamudu amassed 80 Premier League appearances, contributing 17 goals and four assists—remarkable numbers for a defender. He now embarks on a new chapter with Al Hilal, aiming to make his mark both domestically and in African competition.
