African School Games: Ghana’s William Laryea Clinches Silver in Boxing
Team Ghana has secured another medal at the ongoing 1st African School Games in Algeria, with boxer William Laryea claiming silver in the Boys Flyweight (48kg) category.
Laryea put up a spirited performance throughout the tournament, earning his place in the final after a series of impressive victories. However, in the gold medal bout, he came up against a tough Algerian opponent and was narrowly edged out, ultimately settling for second place.
Despite missing out on gold, Laryea’s achievement adds to Ghana’s growing medal tally and highlights the strength of the nation’s boxing prospects at the youth level.
