Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan delivered a decisive late moment for Amedspor, scoring deep into stoppage time to seal a narrow 1-0 victory over Vanspor FK in Turkey’s second-tier league on Monday night.

The young attacker began the game on the bench but was introduced in the 68th minute as head coach Mesut Bakkal looked for a breakthrough, replacing Bulgarian forward Zdravko Dimitrov.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 94th minute, when the Ghanaian forward latched onto a Daniel Moreno assist and calmly finished to spark celebrations among the home fans. The late strike ensured all three points for Amedspor in a tightly contested encounter.

Afena-Gyan’s goal takes his tally to two for the season in the Turkish Lig 1, to go with five assists, underlining his growing influence in the team’s attacking setup.

With the campaign entering a crucial phase, Amedspor remain firmly in the hunt for promotion, and the former Black Stars forward will be hoping his late heroics inspire a strong finish to the season.
