Ghana international Yaw Yeboah has embarked on a new chapter in his career, completing a transfer to Qingdao Hainiu in the Chinese Super League.

The 28-year-old midfielder joins the Chinese side on a free transfer following the end of his stint with Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer. His arrival is expected to bolster Qingdao’s squad as they look to improve on their 16th-place finish from last season.

Yeboah’s journey has taken him across three continents. He began his professional career in Europe with Manchester City before going on to feature for clubs including Lille OSC, FC Twente, Real Oviedo, CD Numancia and Wisla Krakow.

A move to the United States saw him flourish in MLS, first with Columbus Crew, where he emerged as one of the standout African performers in the league, and later with LAFC. His time in Los Angeles was highlighted by lifting the MLS Cup in 2023.

Now heading to Asia for the first time in his career, the former Ghana U23 captain is expected to bring leadership and creativity to Qingdao’s midfield as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.

Yeboah has also represented the Ghana national football team at senior level, earning four caps to date.
