Hearts of Oak Head Coach Aboubakar Ouattara has shifted focus to his team’s upcoming fixture against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko, acknowledging the importance of the match in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.

Speaking after his side’s 4-0 victory over Immigration FC in the MTN FA Cup, Coach Ouattara stressed the need to prepare thoroughly for the high-stakes encounter set for December 15, 2024.

“We can’t jubilate too much because we need to think about the next match [Asante Kotoko],” he said, emphasizing the significance of maintaining momentum ahead of the derby.

Ouattara acknowledged the critical nature of the match for both teams, noting that the stakes are equally high.

“Kotoko needs the win, and we also need the win. Let’s wait till 15th December to see what happens because that game is a three points match,” he added. We are going for the three points; if we don’t get it, we take a point,” he stated, highlighting the team’s objective to avoid a loss.

Hearts of Oak are 6th on the log with 19 points while Kotoko are behind them with 18 points.
