Ghanaian Champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, secured a vital win in the WAFU B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers after beating Togolese side Amis Du Monde.

The Ghanaian giant’s who clinced the 2022-23 domestic league and FA Cup, harvested a 4-2 triumph over Amis du Monde in the Group B fixture at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium.

Mary Amponsah stole the show by single-handedly propellor her outfit to the well with four goals. She scored a haul, making sure they win the 6-goal thriller to look forward.

 Mary Amponsah made her presence felt on the field, right from start breaking the deadlock just a minute after the kickoff with a powerful header. However, the Togolese champions responded swiftly, capitalizing on a loose mark in the penalty box to restore parity on the 17th minute.

Resilient Mary Amponsah showed her prowess again on the 21st minute, taking advantage of a goalkeeper’s mistake to restore the lead for Ampem Darkoa Ladies. With a comfortable advantage, the Ghanaian side continued to dominate the game. With ten minutes left on the clock for a break, Mary Amponsah found the back of the net once more, netting her third goal of the match and extending the lead to 4-1.

Although Amis Du Monde managed to score again, reducing the deficit to two goals, it was not enough to thwart Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ dominance. The Ghanaian side held their ground, maintaining their two-goal lead until the final whistle.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies will next face Ivorian outfit Atletico FC in their next game, scheduled for Friday, August 25, 2023.
