Veteran Ghanaian actor and football enthusiast Henry Harding, popularly known as Pattington Papa Nii Papafio, has attributed the struggles of Ghana football to the nation’s two most iconic clubs, Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

The veteran actor’s comments reflect growing concerns about the state of Ghanaian football including the recent killing of Kotoko fan , with many calling for reforms to restore the sport’s former glory.

In a candid statement, Harding expressed his belief that the two clubs, with their influence and history, hold the key to reshaping the sport in the country.

“I blame Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko for the downfall of Ghana’s football and the issues currently circulating,” Harding remarked on Asempa FM.

“They have the power and trump card to take major decisions on their own. They can decide to sanitize the system by stopping the league for a year and playing friendlies among themselves, and their supporters will understand.”

He believes this move could help reset the system, address systemic challenges, and create a more robust foundation for the future of Ghanaian football.
