Swedru All Blacks are setting their sights firmly on a place in the quarter-finals of the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup as they prepare for a round-of-16 showdown against Nations FC.

The tie is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, and will be staged in Kumasi, with both sides eager to keep their cup ambitions alive.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, All Blacks’ Public Relations Officer, Nathaniel Obeng, expressed confidence in his team’s chances, stressing both progression and performance as key objectives.

“It’s a big game. Ironically the coach who was handling them — Nations FC — when we played them earlier this season is now our head coach,” Obeng told Citi Sports.

He believes the recent appointment of Kassim Mingle could give the Swedru-based side a tactical edge, given the coach’s familiarity with the opposition.

“We believe that he knows and has pretty good knowledge about Nations FC, their players, their style of play so we are very optimistic that we will be able to go there and defend our badge,” he added.

Obeng also acknowledged the competitive history between the two clubs, promising fans an entertaining contest while backing All Blacks to come out on top.

“Whenever we meet [Nations FC], it’s a tough game and we hope to serve our football public with some good football on the day at Abrankese and eventually All Blacks will secure qualification to the next round,” he said.

The fixture carries an added layer of intrigue, with Kassim Mingle set to face one of his former clubs in Nations FC, as Swedru All Blacks look to combine discipline, insight, and ambition in their quest for FA Cup success.
