Berekum Chelsea star forward Stephen Amankona leads a competitive list of four players nominated for the NASCO Player of the Month award for March in the Ghana Premier League.

Amankona’s performances stood out throughout the month, as he netted an impressive four goals in just three appearances. His scoring exploits were highlighted by a sensational hat-trick against Accra Lions, a display that also earned him a NASCO Player of the Match accolade. With both consistency and explosiveness on his side, he emerges as the frontrunner for the award.

Joining him on the shortlist is Bechem United’s dynamic winger, Yaw Annor. Annor scored twice in four matches and was named Player of the Match on one occasion. While his contribution was vital for Bechem, his goal return and minutes played may place him slightly behind Amankona in the race.

Heart of Lions attacker Kwesi Pong is another strong contender, having also scored two goals during the month. Notably, he achieved his tally in just three games, edging Annor in scoring frequency. His performances earned him a NASCO Player of the Match title as well, boosting his candidacy for the monthly honour.

Aduana FC forward Kelvin Obeng completes the quartet of nominees. Obeng matched the two-goal mark in four matches and, like the others, impressed enough to collect a Player of the Match award.

With all four nominees delivering notable performances, the decision promises to be a closely contested one, though Amankona’s prolific scoring run could give him the decisive edge.
