Rayo Vallecano head coach, Íñigo Pérez, has confirmed that the club is awaiting further medical tests to assess the extent of Abdul Mumin Sulemana’s injury.

The Ghanaian center-back was forced off in the 35th minute during Vallecano’s 1-1 draw with Sevilla in La Liga on Saturday. His early exit added to the club’s injury concerns, as Angolan midfielder Randy Nteka had already limped off in the 26th minute.

Speaking after the game, Pérez stressed the importance of conducting more detailed examinations before determining the defender’s recovery timeline.

“Randy appears to have a muscular issue in the abductor. As for Mumin, we are waiting for further tests to diagnose his condition properly,” Pérez stated.

Mumin’s injury comes at a crucial period, with Ghana preparing for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar on March 21 and 24.

While the club awaits official test results, the defender is expected to miss the upcoming international fixtures, dealing a potential blow to the Black Stars’ defensive setup.
