Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Ogum has voiced his frustration following injuries to two of his key players, Emmanuel Kotei and Albert Amoah, as the team navigates a critical stage of the season.

Albert Amoah, the Porcupine Warriors’ top scorer this season with seven league goals, has been ruled out for two months after sustaining an ankle injury during Kotoko’s 1-1 draw with Medeama SC in Tarkwa.

Amoah, who has been pivotal in the club’s attack, also missed the FA Cup game against Acceler8z FC over the weekend and will be unavailable for the final game of the round against Vision FC.

Adding to Kotoko’s woes, Emmanuel Kotei suffered a severe anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during training last Thursday. Medical examinations have confirmed that Kotei will miss the remainder of the season, leaving a significant void in the team’s defensive setup.

Coach Ogum expressed his concerns:
“It’s unpleasant news losing him and Kotei at this busy stage of the season. I initially had chills when it happened during the game because Albert is naturally a strong boy, but the shout he made during the impact left me worried. Injuries are part of the game, and we can just hope he recovers quickly, as he has shown with his previous injury.”

The injuries come at a challenging time for Asante Kotoko as they strive to maintain momentum in both the Ghana Premier League
