Prince Osei Owusu Eyes Black Stars Spot for 2026 World Cup
Prince Osei Owusu has revealed his ambition to represent Ghana national football team at a major international tournament, describing the opportunity as a lifelong dream.
The CF Montréal captain earned his first senior call-up to Ghana last year and made his debut during the Kirin Cup in November. With international friendlies against Germany and Austria scheduled later this month, the striker is hoping to impress head coach Otto Addo and secure a place in the squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with GhanaSoccernet, Owusu said the prospect of representing his country on the global stage would mean a great deal to him.
“It will be a dream come true for me and for every player, you know if you can represent your country, your roots,” he said.
The 29-year-old also recalled the emotional significance of reconnecting with his homeland after making his international debut.
“It’s crazy when I did my debut last season and this year I was in Ghana too, in December to New Year, I celebrated the New Year in Ghana with my family and it was a special day and a special moment,” he added.
Owusu is determined to continue performing well for both club and country in order to remain in contention for future call-ups.
“I will just keep doing good performances. I will try help the team and also CF Montreal and hopefully get the honour of a call up,” he said.
