Partey Urges Arsenal to Raise Their Game After Brighton Draw
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has called on his teammates to elevate their performances if they are to reignite their Premier League title challenge.
The Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion on Matchday 19, a result that saw them drop crucial points in their pursuit of league leaders Manchester City.
Reflecting on the match, Partey admitted the team was disappointed but emphasized the importance of staying focused.
“We were sad, frustrated, everybody was down, but that’s part of football. We wanted to win and keep the momentum going, but at the end of the day, we didn’t get it,” Partey said.
However, he found a silver lining in the result, noting, “It’s also a positive one because we did not lose.”
With Arsenal now turning their attention to upcoming fixtures, Partey stressed the need for improvement and resilience.
“We have to try our best and win these games because they’re the most important ones. It’s not easy against good sides, and to win, you have to be perfect,” he continued.
“We need to forget about today and keep on working hard to win our next game.”
Arsenal’s next challenge comes in the EFL Cup semifinal against Newcastle United on Tuesday, January 7, a match that promises to be a stern test for Mikel Arteta’s side.
