Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has affirmed that his team’s 3-1 triumph over Vision FC in Friday night’s Ghana Premier League encounter was a fair reflection of their second-half performance and composure.

The win, secured at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium, marked Medeama’s second consecutive victory at home and propelled the Mauve and Yellow into 5th place on the league table with 47 points.

“It was a sweet victory in the end,” Tanko told reporters in his post-match interview.

“In the first half, because of one or two decisions by the referee, I think the players were very angry on the pitch. I had to calm them down in the dressing room so we could play our normal game. But I think, in the end, the 3-1 scoreline was deserved.”

The game had a frantic start, with Kingsley Braye giving Medeama the lead inside two minutes. Vision FC responded quickly through Daniel Yemoh in the 5th minute, silencing the home crowd momentarily.

Despite dominating possession for large spells, Medeama struggled to break down the visitors for the remainder of the first half. However, they returned from the break with renewed purpose.

Defender Kamaradini Mamudu restored Medeama’s lead in the 52nd minute with a smart finish from a set-piece. Substitute Abdul Salam sealed the win in the 85th minute with a well-taken goal, ensuring that the Tarkwa faithful left the stadium satisfied.

Tanko’s side now looks ahead to their next fixture, riding a wave of momentum as they continue their pursuit of a top-four finish in the Ghana Premier League.
