Accra Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has voiced his disappointment after watching his side fall to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Aduana Football Club in their outstanding Ghana Premier League Matchday 22 fixture on Wednesday.

The Phobians, who had been aiming to climb higher in the league standings, were second-best throughout the encounter at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Stadium in Dormaa.

Aduana FC took the lead in the 31st minute through their skipper, Sam Adams, who calmly converted from close range after sustained pressure from the home side. The victory was sealed late on when substitute Abdel Latif Bamba found the back of the net with a clinical finish in the 88th minute.

Speaking after the match, Coach Ouattara did not mince words in his assessment of his team’s display, admitting that Aduana were clearly the superior side on the day.

“Aduana played well. We didn’t play football. We gave them all the chances to score us,” the Ivorian tactician said.

“We played badly against Aduana. Truth be told, we were not good at all. We made a lot of mistakes in the game and that cost us the defeat. We were punished by our mistakes. We didn’t run at all in the game and I will let my players know.”

The result sees Aduana FC move up to 11th in the Ghana Premier League standings with 35 points, while Hearts of Oak, despite the loss, remain in 7th place with 41 points after 28 games.

Hearts will now have to regroup quickly as they look to bounce back in their next fixture and stay within reach of the top four.
