Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged Ghanaians to throw their full support behind the team as they prepare for vital 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Madagascar.

Following a difficult 2024 campaign, Ghana’s senior national team is eager to change the narrative and get back on track in the qualification race.

The Black Stars will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before facing Madagascar in Morocco on Monday, March 24.

Speaking to 3Sports, Addo, who was reappointed on a three-year contract in March 2024, expressed appreciation for the unwavering support from fans during challenging times. He also encouraged them to turn up in large numbers for Friday’s fixture.

“A big respect for those who are supporting us. We are calling on your support. We thank you for your support,” the 49-year-old coach said.

“Even though things were bad, we were really grateful for each and everyone who supported us. Like I said, it’s not only about us, it’s about all of us,” he added.

Ghana currently sits second in Group I with nine points and will be looking to secure back-to-back wins to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the global tournament.
