Former Ghana international and youth football legend, Nii Odartey Lamptey, has officially named a 25-man squad for the national U-16 team’s residential camping, set to begin on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the Glow Lamp Soccer Academy in Abreshia, near Elmina.

The selection follows an intensive two-week nationwide scouting and screening exercise, during which the technical team organized trial matches against lower-tier sides to assess and evaluate standout talents from across the country.

As head coach, Lamptey is backed by an experienced and passionate support team including assistant coach John Oppong Welbeck, former Black Star Awudu Issaka, and Welfare Manager Theophilus Daitey.

The technical unit is tasked with grooming the selected players for next month’s Guadeloupe U-16 Invitational Tournament, a prestigious youth football event that will host some of the world’s finest budding talents.

The international tournament is expected to feature renowned youth sides from Mexico, Brazil, France, Ivory Coast, and Togo, offering Ghana’s emerging prospects a valuable opportunity to test their skills on a global stage and gain essential international experience.
