Nations FC Coach Kassim Mingle Laments Missed Opportunities After Goalless Draw with Samartex
Nations FC head coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey expressed disappointment over his side’s profligacy in front of goal after they were held to a stalemate by FC Samartex in their Week 3 Ghana Premier League encounter on Sunday.
The highly contested fixture at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex saw both sides create openings but ultimately fail to convert, leaving the score locked at 0-0 after 90 minutes.
Reflecting on the performance, Mingle admitted that while his players worked hard and managed to break through Samartex’s defensive structure at times, their lack of clinical finishing cost them maximum points.
“We did our best, but our best was not enough to get the three points. We had some few chances that we could have converted. Although they blocked the defense and the midfield, we were still able to penetrate. It’s only the finishing that we couldn’t finish,” the Nations FC boss said in his post-match interview.
Despite the frustration, Mingle remains optimistic about his side’s progress. He believes that with sharper execution in attack, Nations FC can bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.
Attention now shifts to their Week 4 clash against Medeama SC, scheduled for Saturday, October 5, at the TnA Stadium. Mingle is hopeful that his strikers will rediscover their scoring touch as Nations FC chase their second win of the campaign.
