Mohammed Salisu Begins Recovery Push After ACL Surgery
Black Stars centre-back Mohammed Salisu has taken a significant step in his recovery journey after undergoing surgery for a serious knee injury sustained earlier this year.
AS Monaco confirmed in January that the 26-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in his left knee during a Ligue 1 clash with Olympique Lyonnais. Following a successful surgical procedure, Salisu has now resumed gym work as part of his rehabilitation programme, signaling positive progress in his bid to return to action.
As part of ongoing support for injured national team players, Black Stars team doctor Prince Pambo paid a visit to the defender in Monaco, offering encouragement as he continues his recovery.

Salisu has been an important figure for Ghana in recent campaigns, featuring in seven FIFA World Cup qualifying matches and contributing two goals from the back. His presence has been a key asset for the Black Stars, both defensively and in attack.
However, his availability for the upcoming World Cup remains uncertain, with the tournament scheduled to kick off on June 11. Ghana have been drawn in Group L, where they will open their campaign against Panama before taking on England and Croatia in subsequent fixtures.
Salisu’s rehabilitation will be closely monitored by both club and country as he races against time to regain full fitness for the global showpiece.
