Ghana Premier League outfit Medeama Sporting Club have officially confirmed the departure of forward Francis Andy Kumi, just under a year after the striker joined the club.

In a brief statement posted on their official social media platforms on Wednesday, June 18, the Tarkwa-based side announced that both parties had reached a mutual agreement to part ways.

“Medeama SC and Striker, Francis Andy Kumi, have mutually agreed to part ways. Thank you, Kumi,” the club wrote.

Kumi joined Medeama SC in August 2024, penning a two-year contract with the reigning Ghanaian champions at the time. The former Asante Kotoko striker reportedly turned down interest from Hearts of Oak to make the switch to the Yellow and Mauve.

Despite initial excitement surrounding his signing, the forward struggled to cement a regular starting role during the 2024/25 campaign and failed to make the anticipated impact in front of goal.

With his contract now officially terminated, Francis Andy Kumi is a free agent, and multiple clubs in the Ghana Premier League are said to be monitoring his availability as they look to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season.
