Moses Armah Parker, the president of Medeama SC, has dismissed claims that his club blocked the live broadcast of their Ghana Premier League match against Asante Kotoko.

Reports had earlier surfaced, alleging that Medeama prevented Ghana Football Association (GFA)-accredited media partners from telecasting the much-anticipated match, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the TnA Stadium on Sunday.

The GFA charged Medeama SC with breaching Section 42(6) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019. According to the GFA, the club allegedly obstructed accredited media partners from broadcasting the game live.

A statement from the GFA read:
“Medeama SC have been charged with a breach of Section 42(6) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019, following their Ghana Premier League game against Asante Kotoko. It is alleged that the club prevented GFA-accredited media partners from the live broadcast of the said game.”

However, In an interview, the Medeama president denied the accusations, insisting that the club adhered to all rules and regulations.

“We work with rules and regulations. Truth be told, no TV station showed up during the pre-match to telecast the match live. I have no idea of blocking the broadcast of the match. The match commissioner report will determine the truth,” he stated.

The controversy has added another layer to an already thrilling season as Medeama SC continues its campaign to remain competitive in the league.
