Legon Cities Focused on Survival as Relegation Threat Looms — Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang
Communications Director of Legon Cities, Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang, says the club remains fully committed to securing their Ghana Premier League status despite hovering dangerously close to relegation.
The Royals currently occupy 17th position on the league standings with just 25 points, with only four games left in the 2024/25 campaign. Their precarious position has sparked concern among fans and pundits alike.
However, in an interview with Citi Sports, Dwomoh Agyemang insisted the team is laser-focused on grinding out results in the remaining fixtures.
“At this point, we are not looking further beyond the four matches that we are going to be playing in the Ghana Premier League; that’s where the focus is right now,” he stated.
He emphasized that any discussions about restructuring, transfers, or long-term strategy will be handled only after the season concludes.
“As and when the season comes to an end, whatever decision we have to take as a club, with respect to player hiring and all of that, we will decide on that,” he added. “But at this point, we are pretty much focused on… hopefully staying afloat.”
Legon Cities face a tough test in their next fixture when they welcome league leaders Nations FC to the Accra Sports Stadium for a crucial Matchday 31 encounter.
With time running out and the margins tight at the bottom of the table, every point will be critical for the Royals if they are to avoid the drop.
