Kobina Amissah Confident of Steering Bechem United to Safety
Newly appointed Bechem United head coach, Kobina Amissah, has expressed strong confidence that his side will avoid relegation and finish the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season on a positive note.
The experienced tactician took over the reins following the dismissal of Stephen Desmond-Issah Botchway and his assistant Bright Anthony Konadu, after a disappointing start that saw the Hunters record only one win, three draws, and four defeats in their opening eight matches.
Speaking after his unveiling, Coach Amissah assured fans that Bechem United still have ample time to recover and climb up the table if the team maintains focus and discipline.
“I can say the league is too young. We have about 25 matches to go, so we have more time. We are going to bounce back strongly and make sure we do the right things. We have to concentrate and make sure we play to the decision of the instructions we gave them,” he said.
Amissah, renowned for his tactical organization and experience in Ghana’s topflight, emphasized teamwork and consistency as key ingredients to turning around the club’s fortunes.
Currently sitting 16th on the league table with just six points from nine games, Bechem United are enduring one of their slowest starts in recent years. However, the new boss believes that with the right mentality and adjustments, the team will rediscover its competitive edge.
The Hunters will next face Young Apostles in a must-win fixture as they aim to kick-start their revival under Amissah’s leadership.
