Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has challenged his squad to be more ruthless in front of goal as they prepare to face Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors will host the Nigerian side on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of their preliminary-round showdown, with kickoff set for 3 p.m.

Addressing the media ahead of the tie, Karim Zito admitted that wastefulness in attack has been a recurring concern for his team. He revealed that goal conversion has been a major focus during recent training sessions.

“We are working. There is no training we are doing without practising goal scoring. Every session ends with goal scoring, so I think we are working on our goal scoring. I hope and wish they will apply what we have taught them,” the coach told AKSC Media.

Kotoko are aiming to establish a strong advantage at home before travelling for the return leg, and Zito believes that efficiency in the final third could prove decisive in securing progression to the next round.
