Karim Zito Issues Apology After Kotoko’s Fourth Straight Winless Outing
Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has extended a heartfelt apology to supporters after the Porcupine Warriors suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss to Hohoe United, compounding their recent dip in form.
Kotoko entered the Matchday 13 fixture hoping to rebound from their defeat to Young Apostles, which ended their unbeaten run. But their struggles continued as William Oduro’s well-taken first-half strike handed the newly promoted side another statement victory and deepened frustrations within the Kotoko fanbase.
The defeat leaves the Reds without a win in four consecutive Premier League matches, raising concerns over consistency as the season intensifies.
Reflecting on the performance, Zito did not shy away from criticising his team’s sluggish start and offered an apology to the supporters who have stood firmly behind the club.
“We didn’t play well in the first half, and I’m not happy about that,” he admitted during his post-match remarks.
“That is why I want to apologise to the fans. We are sorry, and we promise to make the necessary amendments,” he added.
Kotoko remain fifth on the league table with 21 points, but pressure continues to build as expectations grow.
Zito and his squad will now turn their attention to Matchday 14, where they host Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Stadium in search of a much-needed return to winning ways.
