Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has vowed that Ghana will bounce back in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad on Friday.

During a surprise visit to the team’s training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, President John Mahama met with the squad to offer encouragement ahead of their upcoming fixtures against Chad and Madagascar.

Ghana has faced a difficult run, including missing out on AFCON qualification, but Ayew remains confident that the team will rise to the occasion. Addressing the president, he acknowledged the team’s struggles but promised a turnaround.

“It’s a big sign that you’re here supporting us. We know we’re in a tough situation, but we’re not afraid,” Ayew said. “We will turn things around on Friday, so you can relax. We’ll do the job for the nation.”

The Black Stars will take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 21 before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar three days later. With the backing of the nation, Ayew and his teammates are determined to deliver positive results and keep their World Cup hopes alive.
