Issahaku out for 6-9 months after successful surgery
Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to an ACL injury he sustained while playing for the national team.
The 20-year-old picked up the injury during Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifier against Angola last Thursday.
As a result of the setback, Issahaku was forced to cut short his international duty and return to Leicester City for treatment. The former Sporting CP player has since undergone successful surgery and is now focused on his recovery.
In a message shared on Instagram, Issahaku expressed his gratitude, saying, “All glory be to Almighty Allah. My surgery was successful, and I just want to let you know that I am okay. Thank you all for your kind wishes.”
This injury is a significant blow not only to the Black Stars but also to Leicester City. Issahaku has been a standout player for the Foxes since joining last season and was expected to play a pivotal role in the current campaign.
