Hohoe United Withdraw from Ghana Premier League

Hohoe United have officially pulled out of the ongoing Ghana Premier League following an emergency board meeting that brought their troubled campaign to an abrupt end.

In a statement released by the club, officials confirmed that their decision has been formally communicated to the Ghana Football Association, effectively ending their participation in the current season.

The Volta Region-based side had struggled both on and off the pitch, finding themselves deep in relegation trouble with 30 points from 27 matches. With survival prospects fading, the situation was further worsened by disciplinary sanctions that disrupted their home advantage.

A three-match stadium ban imposed after security lapses at the Hohoe Sports Stadium forced the club to relocate several fixtures. As a result, the majority of their remaining matches were scheduled away from home, leaving them with just one true home game out of their final seven.

Club officials indicated that the logistical and competitive challenges created by this situation significantly undermined their ability to compete fairly, ultimately influencing the decision to withdraw.

The development raises questions about how the league will proceed with fixtures involving Hohoe United, as well as the broader implications for competition integrity.

For the GFA, the focus will now shift to managing the fallout and determining the next steps, while Hohoe United look to regroup after a season marked by setbacks both on and off the field.
