Accra Hearts of Oak have been fined GHS20,000 by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee for a security lapse during their Ghana Premier League fixture against Young Apostles FC on March 8, 2025.

However, GHS10,000 of the fine has been suspended for the remainder of the season, provided no further breaches occur.

The Disciplinary Committee found the club guilty of failing to enforce matchday security protocols, which led to unauthorized individuals, primarily supporters, entering restricted zones.

Reports indicated that several unaccredited persons were seen in areas such as the dressing rooms and technical area, creating potential safety risks for players, officials, and staff.

The committee stressed the importance of strict security measures at match venues and warned that any repeat offenses would result in heavier sanctions. Hearts of Oak have been instructed to tighten security for their home games and submit a detailed report outlining their corrective actions.

The club has seven days to appeal the ruling but must comply with the directives to avoid further penalties, including the possibility of hosting games behind closed doors.
