Heart of Lions head coach, Bashir Hayford, has voiced strong confidence in his team’s ongoing push for the Ghana Premier League title, despite trailing current leaders Bibiani Gold Stars by six points.

As the league enters its final stretch, Hayford’s side sits third on the table and is gearing up for a crucial Week 29 clash against Legon Cities FC this Sunday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

“We are expecting a win. We have to make sure we get some points because life at the top is not easy,” said Hayford in a pre-match interview. “We have done well, but we are striving to go higher.”

With five matches remaining and 15 points up for grabs, the seasoned coach insists the title race is far from over.

“It’s not over until it’s over. We have five matches to go. It’s about 15 points. We are trying to get 10 points, and we will see where it will take us. We are still on course,” he added.

Heart of Lions will be aiming to keep their momentum and close the gap at the summit with a positive result this weekend, as they continue their quest for league glory in the 2024/25 season.
