Golden Kick FC Make History with FA Cup Final Berth After Defeating Attram De Visser
Accra-based Division One side Golden Kick FC have made history by qualifying for the MTN FA Cup final for the first time in the club’s history following a thrilling 3–1 victory over Attram De Visser on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
The semi-final clash, held at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa, saw Golden Kick rise to the occasion with a confident and energetic display that overwhelmed their fellow lower-tier opponents.
The breakthrough for Golden Kick came as early as the 16th minute when Attram De Visser’s goalkeeper Dawuud Ishaque mistakenly turned the ball into his own net under pressure, gifting the lead to their opponents.
Just seven minutes later, the advantage was doubled after a brilliant attacking move was finished off by David Amuzu, sending the Golden Kick bench into raptures.
Shortly after the break, substitute Bless Ege capitalized on another defensive lapse to fire home Golden Kick’s third, effectively sealing the contest. Though Attram De Visser found a consolation goal through Precious Yaw Gyimah in the 87th minute, it came too late to spark a comeback.
The win sees Golden Kick become only the fourth Division One club to reach the MTN FA Cup final since the competition’s rebranding in 2011. They follow in the footsteps of FC Nania (2011 champions), Okwahu United (2016 finalists), and Bofoakwa Tano (2021 finalists).
Golden Kick will now face either nine-time winners Asante Kotoko or Berekum Chelsea in the final, with the second semi-final set to be played at the same venue on Sunday, May 11.
