English-born Ghanaian defender Sean Clare played a crucial role in Leyton Orient’s 1-0 win over Reading in a thrilling League One encounter.
Clare’s pinpoint assist helped secure the victory at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Clare started the match and delivered a commanding 90-minute performance. He was joined by fellow Ghanaian striker Daniel Agyei, who also featured prominently for Leyton Orient. Despite Reading enjoying more possession, it was Orient who dominated in shots and goal-scoring opportunities.
The visitors created the first real chance of the game in the 22nd minute when Galbraith fired high and wide after a defensive mishap from Reading. Moments later, Orient continued their pressure as Happe sent a header just over the crossbar from close range.
The breakthrough came in the 27th minute. A well-placed pass from Clare found striker Charlie Kelman, who made no mistake as his low shot slipped past Reading’s goalkeeper, Boyce-Clarke, to give Leyton Orient the lead.
Clare’s performance in this match adds to his growing influence at Leyton Orient, having now made five League One appearances and contributing an assist to the team’s campaign.
