Ghana will kick off the maiden WAFU A&B U-20 Cup with a Group A clash against Togo in Accra, as the host nation targets a historic title win in the joint zonal youth tournament set for June 15–30, 2025.

Following a successful draw held on Friday, May 30, at the CAF West Zone B headquarters in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The tournament will take place in Accra and marks a landmark moment in West African football, uniting both WAFU Zones A and B in a single youth competition for the very first time.

A total of 13 national U-20 teams will participate in the groundbreaking event, which is expected to accelerate youth football development and foster regional integration through sport.

Groupings for the competition are as follows:

Group A: Ghana (hosts), Togo, Gambia, Liberia
Group B: Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Niger, Mali
Group C: Senegal, Sierra Leone, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin

Ghana, placed in Group A, will open the tournament with strong ambitions of lifting the trophy on home soil. The Black Satellites will enjoy massive home support as they face off against regional rivals Togo, Gambia, and Liberia.
