The Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Club Licensing Department has approved five stadiums after a thorough re-inspection ahead of the resumption of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The selected venues have been deemed suitable based on their playing surface conditions and security arrangements.

Among the stadiums that have received full approval are TNA Stadium in Tarkwa, Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese, Dun’s Park in Bibiani, Nsekyire Sports Arena in Samreboi, and Kpando Sports Stadium. These venues met all necessary requirements and will be available to host GPL matches without further modifications.

Meanwhile, a few stadiums have been given conditional approval, meaning clubs must address outstanding issues before being allowed to host league games. These include Nii Adjei Kraku Park, Tuba Astro Turf, Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, and Nana Agyemang Badu Park. The GFA has instructed these stadiums to rectify concerns related to safety and pitch conditions to meet the required standards.

Two of the most notable venues, Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, the home ground of Asante Kotoko, and Legon Stadium in Accra, which serves as a temporary venue for Hearts of Oak and Legon Cities, have also been flagged for improvements.

However, not all venues have met the required criteria. Wenchi Sports Stadium, Ampanian Arena, and Berekum Golden City Park have been ruled out due to technical and security challenges.

With the Ghana Premier League set to resume, the next round of stadium inspections has been scheduled for March 9, allowing clubs with unapproved venues time to complete the necessary renovations.
