Basake Holy Stars head coach Evans Adotey has admitted that his side’s start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season has been far from ideal but remains optimistic that their fortunes will soon change.

The newly promoted side are yet to register a win this campaign, recording four defeats and two draws in their opening six matches — a run that has left them near the bottom of the league standings.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sportsnite, Coach Adotey acknowledged the team’s current struggles but emphasized that both the technical staff and players are committed to turning things around.

“Things are not really going well for me at Basake Holy Stars, but I pray that things will change in due time. We need to find solutions to that, and we are working on it,” he said.

The experienced tactician, who previously led Medeama SC to continental football, believes that patience and consistency will be key as the team continues to adapt to the demands of top-flight football.

Basake Holy Stars will have another opportunity to secure their first victory of the season this weekend when they return to the AAK Sports Arena in Ampain to host Hearts of Oak in a crucial home encounter.

Fans will be hoping the fixture marks the beginning of a turnaround for Adotey’s side as they seek to climb up the league table and restore confidence in their campaign.
